Dr. Afaf Mubarak Mohammed Bugawa
Dr. Afaf is an Assistant professor in the Technology Management and Innovation Program, Arabian Gulf University, holds a doctorate in Information and Communications Technology from Brunel University - United Kingdom in 2015. She holds Master's degree in Technology Management from the Arabian Gulf University in 2004 and a BSc. in Computer Science from the University of Bahrain in 1995. Additionally, she also hold an accredited degree in Teaching and Learning from Brunel Centre for academic Excellence. Moreover, Dr. Afaf had an extensive experience extends to 19 years in the field of education and scientific research, where she worked as a lecturer at the University of Bahrain and in the College of Health Sciences before its joint the Arabian Gulf University in 2008. She has several positions in the academic and administrative field and presided over a number of administrative committees in College of Health Sciences. Dr. Afaf is the coordinator with the Quality Excellence center in AGU and with the industrial and government sector.
Dr. Afaf participated in local, regional and international conferences; it also has attended several specialized workshops on leadership skills, RefWork, Nvivo program, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). She organized a series of workshops and seminars on topics related to methods of scientific research, quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, as well as Science, Technology and Innovation. She participated in organizing a number of events including the 'e-Learning 2.0' conference at Brunel University - United Kingdom.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Afaf is the only woman, Arab academy for winning a fellowship from Japanese Embassy and Japan Foundation in 2008, to study "The impact of ICT on Gender". Dr. Afaf have different research interests in Information and Technology areas including Web 2.0 Technologies and Learning, Social Media, Web 3.0, Cloud Computing, e commerce, e government, Innovation, e Learning 2.0.
